My Student's Small Musical Ideas
Here you can listen to short musical ideas from my students.
Sometimes I give them clear instructions on how to create their pieces, what keys or intervals to use. Sometimes I give them complete freedom. We call such compositions “From scratch”.
The little musical ideas presented here were created by children aged between 6 to 10 years.
I couldn't say it better than what a wonderful musician and teacher said about the importance of composing music:
“My aim is to help the students express themselves with ease at the keyboard without being hindered by their lack of knowledge nor by their lack of ability. By appealing to the child’s imagination and their creativity, most inhibitions seem to disappear; there is no fear of this new instrument, therefore there is hardly any tension – neither in the mind nor in the body – and the student find himself able to play immediately a musical phrase, using both hands!
I do not teach composition. This work is only an introduction, a stimulating way to get acquainted with the rudiments of music, trying to awake the student’s interest in wanting to learn more about music.”
